The study of past events is concealed and puzzling as is all history. Because of dates, places, times, names, reasons and facts that are not the same, Karate-Do events are especially confused. Sworn to secrecy, Karate-Do was not written in Okinawa. There are no credible records from those ancient periods during which something exists or continues. The "Real" state of things rests in Kata. The order of movement is plain and unmistakable, evolving with much serious consideration. The meaning is also part of history and is as diversified as in any art. It is diversity that makes Karate-Do an art, not conformity. The beauty of interpretations lies in the reality that we can still gain skill from techniques in Kata by exploring the movements, disecting them and using our own imagination which was the intention of the composers of Kata.
