Great post, Sensei Maccarrone. I think that the discussion group should be used to post positive ideas and different ways we can strengthen U.S. Shorin-Ryu. In doing so, we will get more people actively involved. Scott Ashley recently posted a comment regarding our web page...maybe someone who has good computer skills could contribute by giving us some ideas on how to improve the computer layout (i.e., whether it's more color, different format, different history articles, people submitting photos from the dojos involved in U.S. Shorin-Ryu, articles to help dojo owners improve their instruction) Any area of life has its positives and negatives; we can go on and on about the negatives. If we just focus on staying positive, we can all benefit from our affiliation with U.S. Shorin-Ryu. We have some great people involved in our organization; the sharing of ideas can only help make our organization stronger. My students and I look forward to the upcoming Doshi Kai at the Karate U.S.A. dojo.
