On December 12, 2007 and January 16, 2008, promotion exams were held. Congratulations to Mr. Steven Raines who was promoted to San kyu (Brown belt) and to Mr. Sebastian Kolaj who was promoted to Yon kyu (Green belt). A special thanks to Sensei Jerry Figgiani, Sensei Rick Kaufman, Sensei Kathy Hanley and Sensei Silvio D'Onofrio of the East Coast Karate Academy Middle Island, New York for participating in the grading and for spending time with us afterwards. The sushi and sake was great and all had a good time. I would also like to thank Sensei Maccarone and Sensei Figgiani for their time and effort in leading the doshikai this past Sunday. On a personal note, we all wish Hanshi Ernie Ferrara a speedy recovery. Looking forward to seeing all of you again soon.
