I would like to thank everybody who was in attendance for Sunday's doshi kai. I think the pace was set by Hanshi Ferrara who was in attendance for the first time since his stay in the hospital. The feedback I received from some of my students was that it was very motivational to hear him speak and how he made all students feel welcome regardless of gender. His talk on the differences between Nagamine's and Ueshiro's style was excellent for the people who are not aware of the differences. A big congratulations to Nestor Ramos on his achievement of GoDan. We are proud to have him as a member of U.S. Shorin Ryu. I think the flow of the doshi kai was excellent; it actually seemed like it went by too fast. Again, I received excellent feedback regarding Sensei Blanchard and his bo form. The only negative I could see during the day was the directions to the restaurant, but everybody made it and it was a great time and great food. I was also very happy to see Sensei Franco in attendance with his group. I look forward to seeing everybody soon. P.S. Thank you all for filling out the forms at the end of the doshi kai.
